Algebraic and singularity analyses of differential equations arising in applications in Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Cosmology, Astrophysics, Epidemiology, Ecology, Finance, Plasma Physics, Optics. 

Theoretical properties of ordinary and partial differential equations in terms of symmetry and singularity.  Fellow Royal Society of South Africa, Memebr of the Academy of Nonlinear Sciences, Gold Medalist (2000) and Award for Research Distiction (2002) of the South African Mathematics Society.
